BetaTOR HMB
Cowbell is the only performance & recovery drink that contains BetaTOR® HMB.
BetaTOR HMB is the pure, free acid form of HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate). HMB is produced
naturally in our bodies during the metabolism of the essential amino acid leucine. Studies show that BetaTOR increases strength and power, improves body composition, and aids in recovery from intense training. BetaTOR first prevents
muscle breakdown during and after workout and increases muscle synthesis (growth) in the recovery phase. Clinical research has shown that supplementing with BetaTOR during an intense training cycle can improve strength, power, body composition, aerobic performance, and recovery.
MUSCLE GROWTH
Subjects in a clinical study who combined exercise with BetaTOR gained an impressive 16.3 pounds of lean muscle while the Placebo Group only gained 4.6 pounds of muscle.
A 2014 study investigated the effects of BetaTOR on muscle growth and strength in people who regularly lift weights. Using a 12-week trial, participants were split into two groups: one took BetaTOR while the other took a placebo. Both groups followed identical resistance training programs, but the results differed. Those taking BetaTOR experienced significantly greater increases in muscle mass and strength compared to the placebo group. These findings highlight BetaTOR as a powerful supplement for boosting the results of resistance training.
Muscle Breakdown
In another clinical study, subjects increased protein synthesis by more than 70% and reduced muscle breakdown by 58%.
A 2013 study examined how leucine and its metabolite, HMB, affect muscle protein metabolism in humans. Researchers found that both can stimulate muscle protein synthesis, which is essential for muscle growth and repair. Interestingly, HMB was observed to be more effective than leucine in reducing muscle protein breakdown, suggesting that HMB may have a stronger role in preserving muscle mass. This suggests that HMB could be particularly beneficial for individuals aiming to maintain or increase muscle mass, such as athletes or those experiencing muscle wasting conditions.
